Tower Records was the single best most fun job I ever had! Where will all the freaks work now? Where? Will it all be gamer stores? Where will they go? There was nothing better than hanging out at a record store, flipping thru records, checking out who's looking at similar stuff...friends were always made at Tower...Sad very very sad end of an era.
IIRC, we met at tower before we ever met... I was buying a POWER STATION lp and we made chitty chat about Robert Palmer's solo stuff (before he was famous*). I was still in seminary mode at that time -1985! The memory is pleasant, if somewhat hazy...
*In my youthful irrational exuberance important to be into someone before they were popular. I was a punk before you were a punk. sigh
Wow, you know, working on Ventura Blvd in the day, was almost like Celeb status ESPECIALLY at Tower Records. I have had people come up to me a decade or two later remembering that they bought their first CD from ME. Crazy...
Yaye and Tallulah have been friends since the 6th Grade and it shows. They are very silly and occasionally attracted to cute homeless guys. They have lived in different states for nearly 18 years and share an interest in salty sweet tubers.
